This handsome large Victorian semi detached house was in need of total modernization and benefitted from having amazing original period features such as a large domed rooflight and fireplaces and original formation of rooms - looking out over a large mature garden.
The house was refurbished to provide living spaces for the young family, including a new loft and basement for hosting large family gatherings. The mum of the family is American and so we wanted to draw on influences of her heritage by looking at New England style spaces that are reflected in the vaulted ceiling above the kitchen space.
A side extension provides a wide set of spaces with a central double fronted fireplace between the kitchen and dining spaces. A private bar at basement level opens out onto a basement terrace and hot tub area - great for parties!
