Brockley House, Brockley, London

We are excited to be working on an early Victorian detached house within a prominent Conservation Area in South London. The brief is to fully refurbish the house, working to create a set of creative spaces that are fully occupied by the adults as well as the children who live in them.

The spaces should all flow into one another, providing moments in each room to read, socialise, relax and create. We love designing for families, and a brief that focuses on the children's ownership of the spaces is particularly interesting.

The clients are both from creative backgrounds and the attention to detail in the use of materials is particularly important. The design enhances the existing period building whilst the new elements of the building are to present a level of craftsmanship encapsulated within the original house. Our environmental approach to the design and specification of the fixtures and fittings, is to use as many locally sourced and low carbon products as possible.
